The wisterias are among the best of all wall shrubs, and flourish in sun and in a good soil. They can be trained to cover very large areas and live to a great age.

All the following flower in May and June:

Wisteria floribunda macrobotrys, exceeds W. sinensis in interest if not in beauty. Carries its pale lilac flowers in 3 ft. long trails.

W. sinensis, 1 ft. long trails of fragrant mauve or white flowers.
