Myrtus communis, 6 to 8 ft., even taller when sheltered. Its leaves are fragrant when rubbed. Carries a profusion of small white flowers with tufted stamens in July. Plant in April.

It will succeed in the south of the British Isles and needs to be put in a warm, sheltered corner.
